Store-bought fondant is an easy way to start decorating cupcakes that look like they came straight off the shelves of a famous bakery. Fondarific is a great fondant to start with.

You can cover the cupcake with fondant instead of frosting and use an impression mat to create a beautiful imprint on the cupcake. Both fondants and impression mats are available in a wide variety online. Another time-saving technique would be to use pre-made icing flowers.

Decorating the Cupcake

Roll out white fondant and cover the cupcake with it. Make imprints on the cupcake using impression mats.

Use gel paste food coloring to color the vanilla fondant pink. Then roll out and cut out flowers using a small cutter. Press an edible pearl on to the center of each flower.
